Earth is our planet but als is the element that stands for stability, tranquility, and a certain passivity; a material substance. We only ever see its surface, yet the earth is more than just crust, mantle, and core. The realm of the earth, on the other hand, addresses cultural diversity and the exchange between civilisations, as well as reflection on the relationship between humankind and nature. ‘Earth’ is enriched with the ethical implications of our actions. Even though the earth appears massive and indestructible, all actions have profound consequences.

The installation “Section” consists of a thin, zigzag-shaped wooden profile strip reminiscent of a mountain ridge silhouette. The line is reflected onto the ground as a shadow through light projection. This doubling creates the surface of a body, a whole. The work is intended to remind us that the earth is not just a surface, but a complete, round cosmos. Everything that happens outside also has consequences inside. We are all earthly.
