Project Description
2002
Live Streaming Video Installation
From time to time spot lights of cars flash around the corner of the empty street. The visitor’s view travels out from the glassroof of the Limona-building down to the nightly Wieland Square below.
The same view of the scene is also recorded in realtime by a webcam and streamed through the internet. The resulting video stream is projected onto a wall in the middle of the same space from where the picture was taken.
The real view and the real image overlap. But the time delay and the jerky quality of the realtime projection transport a dense cinematographic atmosphere – strongly different to the realtime observation. Which is the real reality?
Shown within a MFA-studio project in Weimar, November 2002.
